School Meals
Lunch is prepared on the premises and served in the school hall. Dinner money is collected on the first day of each week for the whole week. The cost of a school meal is currently £2.00 per day or £10.00 per week (subject to review). All school dinners must be paid for in advance, either daily or weekly – dinners cannot be provided to pupils if they have not paid unless they are entitled to free school meals. If you think you’re your child is entitled to free school meals please contact the school office for an application form.
Arrangements can be made for students requiring a special diet for health or religious reasons and a vegetarian meal is always available. Students may bring packed lunches if they prefer, to be eaten in the dining hall. Please ensure that drinks are stored in unbreakable containers, no fizzy drinks or glass bottles please. Healthy Schools Award
Submissions were made by the PSHCE Faculty, the P.E. Faculty, the Technology Faculty and an over-arching submission for Emotional Health & Wellbeing Medicines
Students may bring prescribed medicine into school whether it be for long or short term usage. However, we do require parents to complete a form should this be necessary. Antibiotics will only be given if required dosage is four times a day.
Medicines must be supplied with their original labels to ensure correct dosage is given. Children who are on prescribed medication to help with their behaviour will be sent home if ; a) they refuse to take their medication. b) there has been no medication sent in to school for your child. Asthmatic children must keep a preventative (blue) inhaler in school at all times. No medicines of any type can be given without parental consentts Anti-bullying Policy
Healthy Living
Smoking is strictly forbidden for all students. Governors, Staff and Parents are requested to refrain from smoking in all areas of the school.Meadow High School is totally opposed to bullying in any of its forms and it will not be tolerated in school.
We are committed to provide a caring, friendly and safe environment for all our students so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.
Parents and families have an important role to play in helping to deal with bullying. Special medical requirements may be met after agreeing a protocol between parents/carers. In 2007 we were awarded the Standard Healthy Schools Status. Not only does this cover healthy eating, but all areas of our pupil’s welfare. |
