I hope you all received your letters about the childrens dietary requirements. This is to make sure that they are eating the right sorts of foods. We are aiming to make the school dinners as healthy as possible and to give them a varied diet. A copy of the school menus can be seen by clicking on the link. These change at Easter and our Spring/Summer menus come into use then. We would also like to promote healthy lunch boxes as well, ideally this would include a sandwich, fruit, yogurt and a non fizzy drink. We would like to discourage crisps or chocolate bars. If you are unsure of healthy options for your childs lunch box there are leaflets to help and we would be happy to give one on request. The students bring their lunch boxes to the kitchen first thing in the morning and they are then put in the fridge to keep them at the correct temperature. Lesley Gay, our school cook came up with the idea of running a competition to rename the kitchen just before christmas. There were many entries, all of them very good, but the winning entry was by Neil Dew in year 10 who came up with the name "Food Factory". A design was drawn and Mr. Sugden our art teacher has been in the process of painting the new name over the kitchen. To view the menus for each term please click on the link below. autumn/winter 08
